ARRANGEMENTS FOR “CELEBRATION OF DANCE”, CONCORD COLLEGE, ACTON BURNELL, ON SATURDAY JULY 1ST, 2017

Please will all performers arrive at Concord College at 10.00 am on Saturday July 1st.

I will be running a full technical rehearsal during the morning. (Parents/carers of younger children feel free to stay in the theatre during the rehearsal.) Please send plenty of drinks (no glass bottles or cans) and refreshments. The rehearsal will end at approximately1 pm when the children are to be collected. (Performers aged 10 years and above are welcome to stay all day if they wish – so please send a packed lunch.)

May I offer a suggestion regarding food and costumes? Could all children taking part in the performance have something substantial to eat at home before returning to Concord? Once the children are in costume I would rather they didn’t eat (especially chocolate!). I will provide plain biscuits and water.

All performers are to return to the theatre at 4.30 pm for make-up, with their hair brushed and ready (half-up, half-down).

Please could parents and carers bear with us between 4.30 when the children are dropped off and 5.00 pm when the doors open? Everyone attending the performance must show their tickets at the main entrance after the doors open. Drinks will be available from 5.00 pm and the performance starts at 6.00 pm. Children not taking part in the second half of the programme will be welcome to sit in the auditorium and watch. I would like them to return to the stage for the finale, if possible!

The raffle will be held during the interval. PLEASE, any prizes would be most welcome.

I estimate the evening will end at approximately 8.30 pm. During the performance Heather and Charles of Microvideo will be filming – I am sure you will agree with me that they always create a wonderful ”memory” of our Celebration of Dance. Request forms for the photographs taken by Jenny Edmiston will be available in the foyer.
I would very much like to add some photographs of our performance on the website – please inform me if you are not in favour of this for your child / children.

As promised I am providing all leotards. Please can I have payments for these as soon as possible?

Long sleeved leotards £10.00
Sleeveless leotards £5.00

These cut-price items will be for your daughter to keep.

At the interval and at the end of the evening please do not come backstage, but wait in the corridor – there will be several teachers and helpers present. When the children are ready to be collected they will be brought to you.

DON’T FORGET TO BRING:

• REFRESHMENTS
• HAIRBRUSHES
• HAIR CLIPS
• WHITE UNDERWEAR
• DRAMA PUPILS – ALL PROPS REQUIRED FOR YOUR PIECE
• NAMED BAG FOR HOME CLOTHES

ALL ITEMS BROUGHT MUST BE CLEARLY NAMED.

PLEASE, NO VALUABLES AND NO JEWELLERY TO BE WORN.

Tickets are still on sale and can be bought either directly from me or from Burway Books, Church Stretton. Prices are £6 for adults and £3 for children.

Thank you for your kindness and support – the children have been working so hard (as have all my wonderful teachers) to create what I hope will be a memorable 9th “Celebration of Dance”.
