NEWSLETTER FOR AUTUMN TERM 2016

Dear Parents/Carers

A warm welcome to you all at the start of a new year with the Diana Griffiths School of Dance. I hope you have all had a lovely summer break and the children are refreshed for the start of term.

Well done to everyone who took part in “A Celebration of Dance…A Tapestry of Colours” on July 2nd at Concord College. I am sure you will agree that the children’s performance was excellent and I would like to add how thrilled we all were with the children’s wonderful behaviour throughout the day! We raised a brilliant £1,250 for Hope House, thanks to the children’s hard work, my wonderful and inspired teachers, Flo, all the backstage and front of house helpers, and as always your tremendous support.

Thank you for attending our end of term prize giving and cheque presentation to Hope House Friend Heather Hathaway. Commendations were awarded to every member who took part. In addition there were special awards for Improvement (Fenn Bartlett-Garrard and Louisa Crump), Dance Awards (Rosie Wilson and Florence Rocke-Wharin), Drama Awards (Aris Kokkinou and Isabel Abbatt) and Commitment Awards were presented to Gemma Francis and Josie Allsop.

Our Summer Theatre School at Condover Primary School was a great success. Three days of dance, drama, musical theatre and creativity expertly led by Ruth Seager and Vikki Leech and culminating in a “sharing” of some excellent work which was greatly enjoyed! I know Vikki and Ruth are keen to offer another similar event next summer, so keep an eye open for news on our website and on our Facebook page.

I am delighted to inform you that Mrs Sarah Hickman will be continuing to teach the children Drama and LAMDA at Dorrington on Saturdays.

Please refer to our Autumn timetables – there are a few changes at Dorrington on Saturdays – I dearly hope that these will work for you all!

As always do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions concerning your child / children … your feedback is important to me. Thank you for your continuing support and I look forward to an enjoyable and successful Autumn Term.

Yours,

Cathy
